Eric Drougge

Eric Drougge (b.2006) began studying the cello at the age of four. He has studied with Petra Hellquist, Peter Schöning, Ingemar Brantelid and Professor Niels Ullner. In the fall of 2025, Eric started his bachelor's degree at the Royal Academy of Music Edsberg with Professor Jakob Koranyi as his teacher.

Eric has been awarded first prize in several competitions. Stockholm International Music Competition (1st prize 2015, 2017), Berlingske Klassiske Musikkonkurrence (1st prize 2019), Öresunds Solist (1st prize and Talent Prize 2020) and DKDM Klassiske Musikkonkurrence (Gold Medal 2020). Eric was appointed Bergslags Soloist in 2024 and made his debut with Robert Schumann's Cello Concerto together with the Bergslagens Kammarsymfoniker conducted by Simon Crawford-Phillips. Over the years, Eric has received scholarships from several foundations and from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music in 2024 and 2025. In 2026, Eric was awarded the prestigious Guido Vecchi scholarship with a concert at the Gothenburg Concert Hall.

Eric has taken chamber music lessons with prominent teachers and professors such as Konstantin Bogino, Martin Funda, Stefan Fehlandt, Guro Kleven Hagen, Malin Broman, Simon Crawford-Phillips and Fredrik Øland. He has also participated in masterclasses with Tanja Tetzlaff, Lars-Inge Bjärlestam, Marko Ylönen, Torleif Thedéen, Ole-Eirik Ree, Johannes Rostamo, Mats Lidström and Elemér Lavotha.

Eric plays a cello built by Giovanni Lazzaro, Padova 2002.
